As the Operational Risk & Internal Control Officer, you will join a dynamic environment and be responsible for setting up, developing and managing the Internal Control Framework of the organization. Furthermore, you will be responsible for several activities related to the operational risk management such as collecting and reporting operational losses,performing risk assessments and monitoring key risk indicators.

As Operational Risk & Internal Control Officer, you will report to the Risk Manager.

Some of your main responsibilities as Operational Risk & Internal Control Officer are:

  • Ensure adequate design of procedures and controls to reduce the identified risks;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the business, discuss internal control issues and related corrective actions with the business;
  • Help the business to identify risks and facilitate workshops to assess these risks and define possible mitigation measures;
  • Develop, initiate, maintain and review all policies and procedures;
  • Conduct various risk assessments;
  • Support the External and Internal Audit throughout the execution of audit plans.


You are the ideal candidate for this position if   

  • You hold a university degree in Economics, Finance, Law and / or Accounting.
  • You have 2 years of professional experience in external/internal audit, internal control, management consulting and/or financial control.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and French, as well as in English (oral & written).
  • You thrive on understanding complex processes and on acting as a business partner to improve them.
  • you have a keen interest in the insurance business or are eager to learn more about it.
  • Knowledge of the applicable regulation such as Solvency II, the Insurance Law, etc. is a plus.
